If you are on a hunt for that perfect getaway after your wedding – you must check out these 3 fabulous destinations by KUONI, Norwich. Previously featured in the Norfolk Brides Magazine, these are certainly some hot destinations for you and your new husband.
The return form our very much last minute family holiday at the end of last week has certainly made me feel blue. I am finding myself missing the warmth and brightness of the tropical sun. Our long walks on the beach seem to have happened decades ago… And to top it all off – everyone else seem to have gone on holiday this week.
To combat my holiday blues I decided to check out some honeymoon options, since Mr T & I have not officially had a honeymoon since we got hitched over 3 years ago. This reminded me of some good destinations mentioned in the last issue of Norfolk Brides Magazine travel agents from KUONI at John Lewis. Read on to find their favourite picks ( or check them out in the magazine online).
Banyan Tree, Seychelles
A tranquil retreat with a dramatic hilltop setting in magnificent Intendance Bay and a world-class spa.
Overlooking one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, this charming resort combines a traditional colonial style with a rustic design that blends with its stunning natural surroundings. With it’s spellbinding views and secluded setting, this intimate resort is perfect for honeymooners in search of blissful privacy and low-key relaxation.
Make the most of the stunning infinity pool that is set amongst giant boulders and overlooks the turquoise ocean beyond. Begin your day with breakfast overlooking the ocean at Au Jardin d’Epices which also serves light lunches and international cuisine for dinner. An intimate lounge bar offers light snacks, Saffron serves award-winning Thai cuisine and there is also a Creole restaurant. Sip freshly squeezed fruit juice or exotic cocktails at the oceanfront pool bar and choose from a host of private dining options in beautiful locations around the resort.
The contemporary pool villas are dotted on a hillside and the beachfront and feature high sloping ceilings, sunken baths, open-air pavilions and private pools.
Rocky’s Boutique Resort, Thailand
Designed with privacy and seclusion in mind, this family-owned hotel is set over three powder soft beaches with tranquil views of the Gulf of Thailand, where traditional long tailed fishing boats sail in the distance. Take a dip in one of two swimming pools, dive amongst the colourful corals nearby or partake in a traditional cooking class to learn the techniques behind Thai cooking at this haven of relaxation.
Savour international cuisine at the resort’s signature fine dining restaurant – The Dining Room, which overlooks the blissful beachfront from a large granite rock and serves classic French cuisine with a unique modern twist. Alternatively, enjoy the popular show cooking concept at The Bistro, serving contemporary Mediterranean and Thai dishes.
There are 47 bungalows and three private villas at this resort – creating an intimate island feel. The elegant deluxe gardenview rooms are perfect for honeymooners. Upgrade to the larger deluxe garden poolview rooms and you’ll have direct access to the garden pool from your terrace. The more secluded oceanview junior suites are nestled on a hilltop and offer glistening ocean views, whilst the more exclusive beachfront junior suites are located merely steps from the warm, lapping waters.
Beth Herrmann, Kuoni personal travel expert offers her top choice for the ultimate honeymoon in the Maldives.
Velassaru Maldives is my choice for a perfect honeymoon. I’ve recently visited this five-star resort, which has chic, contemporary design and a relaxed and friendly vibe. The stunning infinity pool is one of my favourite spots to relax and you can head to Fen Bar in the evening to test out the cocktail list and listen to a live DJ. You can also wander out onto the beach and pull up a bean bag for a night of stargazing or a movie under the stars.
AMAZING, right? I think choosing a honeymoon is much tougher than most people think – for us, anyway.
