Liddy Goodrum, the owner of The Little Horse Box mobile bar, launched not one – but four! – brand new mobile bars with an exclusive photoshoot in the heart of the Norfolk countryside back in November 2017. We have featured some of the gorgeous images in our latest issue of Norfolk Brides Magazine (hope you got your copy?!), but  I have been itching to share the full photoshoot with some gorgeous images from behind the scenes with you for a while. I always find it very exciting to see another fab local wedding business succeed and do so well – especially when they bring something so beautiful to our brides and grooms.  Read on for the full story in Liddy’s own words.

Enjoy, and let us know, which bar is your favourite!

It has been one crazy year since The Little Horse Box first landed! Having enjoyed much success, serving drinks and canapés at weddings, anniversary parties and birthday celebrations, the decision was made to extend our bespoke bar range to offer the perfect option for every individual client. My husband, Jason, set straight to work over the summer to create four beautiful new bars, inspired by my love of all things vintage. And what better way to introduce them to the world than with a rustic, country-themed wedding shoot, bringing together all my favourite wedding suppliers?

The photoshoot was planned for an early October day to reflect my passion for autumn weddings – the eye-catching colours, flora and fauna, and light breeze which presents many a picture-taking opportunity. I love the idea of the bride’s veil being swept away by the wind. How romantic! Our setting was the charming College Farm wedding venue near Watton. Owned by the lovely Katharine Wolstenholme and her family, we couldn’t have chosen a more suitable location – it simply oozes country chic. Katherine’s husband, Richard, also kindly allowed us to use his lime flower green MG for the shoot, together with their friends’ beloved pugs, Peggy and Molly. I called on the extremely talented Esther Wild Photography to capture our stunning bars in all their glory.

SOLID WOOD MOBILE BAR – LORD HECTOR

First up was Lord Hector. A solid wood bar made from 100-year-old reclaimed wooden floorboards, it is full of character and has a real masculine feel, hence our artistic ‘cider and cigar’ signage, created by Sam Wood, who also worked with us on The Little Horse Box. Giving a nod to American bar design and the current trend for placing indoor furniture outside, the striking photographs really tap into the ‘close to nature’ theme that I was hoping to achieve.

RECLAIMED WOOD & TIN BAR – REMUS

Next up was Remus, our tin and reclaimed wood bar with a gorgeous silver horseshoe as a centrepiece. Named after the horseshoe’s previous owner, 10-year-old Suffolk Punch horse, Remus, who lives at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse, this bar represents everything I adore most in life – horses, upcycling, a glass of wine, and the great outdoors. On the menu were delicious custom-made cocktails from Remus – Highland Flings for the guys and Blushing Brides for the girls. The simple styling of the bar menu works perfectly alongside florist Oops! A Daisy’s bohemian countryside vibe. The seasonal blooms of dahlias and chrysanthemums mixed with orchids give a contrast of texture, while roses, antirrhinum and scabiosa provide an added touch of luxury.

GATSBY – PINK FLAMINGO GIN BAR

Our third bar to be unveiled was Gatsby. A traditional gin bar inspired by the 1920’s book whose title character is one of literature’s most famous party-throwers, we went all-out for our launch with a pretty pink flamingo juice bar.

BOHEMIAN STRAW BALE BAR – WORZEL

And last but not least, there’s Worzel. A fun and quirky straw bale bar, that looks fabulous in front of the backdrop of an old barn. It is a perfect choice if you are having a  free-spirited bohemian affair festival themed wedding or a relaxed rustic soiree. It oozes with effortless, chic vibes and works a treat if you are after a more laid back celebration.

THE ORIGINAL – LITTLE HORSE BOX MOBILE BAR

The Little Horse Box is the original mobile bar which Liddy launched last year. Following an extensive three month refurbishment, a once loved little horsebox has been transformed into a thing of beauty, boasting colour changing LED lights, Moroccan style flooring in pretty pinks, blues and greys, and upcycled barrel sink and traditional hand – painted sign writing. The Little Horse Box’s main repertoire is luxury wines and Prosecco, sourced locally from Norfolk.  Your ultimate – to go to bar for any outdoor event.
