“We went to Scotland and stayed on a small, secluded island. On 30th March we went to the ruins of Dunholy Castle and climbed to the top where we saw the most stunning view across the bay. Thirty nerve-wracking ( for David!) minutes later, he took me to a little stone archway, got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. I stood there silent for a moment or two feeling shocked & ever so excited and then said yes. “
“We set a date for 2015, unfortunately due to my grandfather’s ill health we decided to bring the wedding forward to summer of 2014. For me, the highlight of our wedding planning was the search for my wedding dress. Both families pitched in to help with all aspects of wedding planning which was really lovely and added so much meaning to our big day. Contributions varied from my lovely granny making my lace garter to David’s mother creating the flower arrangements and my dad’s partner making our wedding cake. Because we had a vintage themed wedding, all contributions and mismatches were working perfectly fine and created a really personal styling touch to the day”
David “The funniest moment for me was seeing my new wife asleep with a bar of chocolate”
Helen “Walking down the aisle, seeing all my family and friends looking back and seeing David standing at the alter waiting for me”.
“RELAX!! As the wedding has been in planning for such a long time, on the day itself it is very important to take a few minutes here and there to take in everything that’s going on. The day goes so quick, so take some time, just the two of you to admire your day!”
