Silence before the storm
Firstly, let me apologise profoundly for the silence on the blogging front for past couple of months. I know we all get busy and life gets in the way, but this time I was completely stacked with renovation our home / birthdays AND of course, THE 3rd issue of our annual magazine and frankly, I was genuinely too brain-dead to produce blogs of any value or interest!
My patience and organisational skills had been tested on several occasions and it is only now that I have time to get a breath of fresh air and slow down a little. So here goes the lowdown on what had been happening on the work front at NB HQ for the past 2 – 3 months.
Norfolk Brides Magazine | 2017 issue is NOW OUT!
One of the main reasons for the silence on our part for the past few months was the Norfolk Brides Magazine. It was gruelling long working hours, sleepless nights and maybe even a few tears shed in the process of the production of our gem. And I call it a gem, because it really is.
The 2017 edition of Norfolk Brides magazine is fun and pages are filled with inspiration from 16 Real Wedding features (all of which had taken place in Norfolk!). We invited some of the best wedding folk locally to share some of their wisdom and knowledge with you ( let’s admit, there is always something to learn!) and they didn’t disappoint . News pages introduced you to some new and upcoming local wedding suppliers and I absolutely LOVE our styled shoots oozing with inspo, and style, and best of all – they are ALL local to Norfolk!
Our favourite part stage of the magazine was the Fashion Edit photoshoot I organised with the help of our Fashion Editor Abi Gray and photographed by Esther Wild Photography. I hope you will find the 12 page spread inspiring and helpful! We will be blogging the full trend report and the looks very soon so do make sure you keep an eye out for it and check out the whole team who was involved.
We chose one of the images from Carl & Megan’s wedding for the 2017 Norfolk Brides Magazine cover by Tim Stephenson Photography. The stunning shot reflects the Norfolk Brides Mag vibe perfectly. The bohemian effortlessly chic look, with gorgeous flower crown and botanical bouquet nails the up and coming 2017 trend perfectly. Golden fields in the farm and blue skies screams Norfolk and we wanted to celebrate how much of a unique wedding destination our county is!
Here are a few photos by Darina to showcase what you can expect to find in the 3rd issue of the magazine!
The Oxnead Wedding Show
Wow. This is all I can say.
Honestly, we have had the busiest wedding show at Oxnead to-date and before I carry on – I just would like to say a HUGE thank you to our exhibitors and the team at Unique Norfolk Venues for making this event as fabulous as it was!
With hundreds of couples in attendance, the event had a fantastic feel and a really good vibe. There is nothing more I enjoy than hearing brides’ excitement when they find something cool that they had been looking for, or seeing people chatting and discussing their wedding plans, visualising the décor and planning other details.
Congratulations, once again, to the Adnams competition winner Catherine Ashby who bagged herself 12 bottles of Adnams Prosecco and picked them up on the day ( shame we didn’t get a photo for you to see!)
Oxnead Hall is one of our favourite wedding venues in Norfolk and it is delightful to be able to invite the couples for a day out so they can soak up the gorgeous gardens and ponder about their day while enjoying a glass of bubbly on us.
Here are some GORGEOUS snaps of the show by Darina Stoda Photography .
I hope the sneak peek if the Oxnead Wedding Show and the magazine has wet your appetite for some more wedding inspiration and if you can view the magazine for FREE online or pick up a free copy from selected locations across Norfolk ( click for a stockist list). If you can’t wait long enough to get your hands on it , you can always order your copy online for just £4 to cover our P&P + fees and get it delivered straight though your letterbox!
Before I sign off, I’d like to thank everyone who was involved in planning and putting together our best yet magazine and the wedding show. Huge shout out to Annie of Jolly Good Designs for the splendid design and Sophie of Just Regional for help with editing and writing some of the articles and of course, the whole bunch of our fantastic contributors.
Finally, my biggest thanks really has to go to my ever so patient husband & daughter – they were on hand with cups of coffee and food late at night to keep me going to get the magazine finished on time. Sorry for missed family days out and for the amount of takeaways you had to endure while I was busy, I could not have done this without you!
