An opulent 1930's Manor House shoot with a Modern Twist

13 December 2014 / Styled Weddings/ Wedding Planning

Today I am feeling nostalgic and would like to share this fabulous 1930’s inspired opulent country manor wedding styled and captured by some of the most talented Norfolk wedding suppliers. I am particularly fond of the vintage inspired décor and feel... and the details. Many of those!

If you are a bride who loves both vintage & modern looks – this is a perfect post for some luxurious wedding inspiration for you – filled with stunning floral displays and some of the finest vintage bridal styling introduced to us by Penny of the Little Lending Co. :

"Godwick Hall's beautiful Georgian house was the perfect setting, tall walls and delightful design details for our Country Manor esq. shoot surrounded by the most perfect Norfolk countryside.

The concept was to create something opulent for an intimate marriage ceremony which is something Godwick Hall offers to couples looking for a dreamy reception. Is there anything more romantic than marrying your favourite in front of a roaring fire? In the drawing room The Little Lending Co. wrote on slate boards as chair back signage, books and brass accents we're added to the mantel piece as a focus and urns we're filled with a mix of textural florals which popped against the teal wall. Large statement florals we're also added in the hall way next to a calligraphy board and easel with a quote that captured the whole shoot beautifully - 'When I saw you I fell in Love, and you smiled because you knew'. “

“Our groom wore camel chinos and a tweed vintage jacket. A deep forest green bow tie with a plum handkerchief and buttonhole of ranunculus, hellebore, viburnum berries and eucalyptus. We created a bourbon filled cocktail for our boy too, it's great to think of the men a little on the wedding morning too. Our bride wore a champagne silk dress with a gorgeous low back bow detail, a subtle but striking bridal look with make-up of bold plum lips and gold lids by Georgina Suzanne. Hair by Zany's Boutique was loosely plaited in a up-do, not too neat to add a more modern twist for our girl. Nails we're painted in a shimmering rose gold and deep berry on the toes by Betty's beauty. “

“Decor details of old rich coloured books, antlers and brass candle sticks were nestled into a full table laid with moss to create a really full on table-scape. The Country Garden Florist created a luxe floral vibe, mixing peach roses with deep black grapes and viburnum berries for colour, pure white hellebores and ranunculus for a soft edge, and pussy willow for tactile texture. Fresh Plums and grapes we're mixed through the table for a lavish finish. “

We stepped outside for a final few shots to really feel the grandeur of the venue. Would you consider an intimate wedding day with just a few of your favourites?”

I must say, I am in love with the decor and the grooms outfit, the dog, stag and whisky just adds that touch of class, sophistication yet cosy feel. The champagne coloured silk wedding gown and very simple plait just added to simple, yet extremely luxurious feel of the overall shoot.
